Silent Wings[2007]
"Silent Wings" is Rob Child's latest effort which tells the story of WWII glider pilots, brings to bear his own writing skills and, for the first time, uses the audio editing skills and tools available at the Audio Post in Phildelphia for surround sound and authentic WWII sound effects, and using the video editing of Brian McDonnell in NYC (link coming). There is interview footage of surviving glider pilots and also of Walter Kronkite and Andy Rooney. Sample tracks will be available shortly.
Moved (.mov)[2006]
Brian Heney, a talented animation student at the Art Institute of California created this clever, very slick animation short that takes a humorous look at pride. This was really fun to do. The track is the first one to play on this page, if your browser allows media content.
Lincoln and Lee at Antietam[2005]
Formerly titled "Antietam: The Boys in Blue and Gray", this is the second installment of a series on Civil War battlefields. Rob Child has found success in getting production support for his numerous great ideas he wants to put on film. I'm honored to be a part of his projects which tell the stories of tremendously important moments in our nation's war history.

Semper Eadem (April 2005)
John Stanitz is a very talented film maker at the Rochester Institute of Technology School of Film. He and his producer, Krystal Lord, were searching for a composer to provide something appropriate for a documentary on lead poisoning in children (it is still a problem) and luckily for me, we are all working together on this interesting and disturbing piece. You can hear a couple of short samples of work I've done so far. The editing is still ongoing till the middle of April, so you'll have to wait a bit yet to see this one.

El Savio (February 15, 2005)
One very cool thing that has happened twice is making contact with a maker in a foreign country: first, England (see next entry) and now Mexico. Christian Maldonado of Cuautitlán Izcalli, México contacted me out of the blue (he found me on Google!) and spoke to me about this very interesting project he is developing. "El Savio" is a Flash animation story about an alien that has been sent to bring a message to Earth from God. I haven't seen any of it yet, but he will release it chapter by chapter at his site so it can be viewed by anyone for free. I can't wait to see it and add my underscore to what looks to be a beautiful story well told. He has other projects in mind, too-- oh! how I love to work with other artists who have the creative urge!
Mythic Blades
Mythic Blades is a PC game to be released very soon, produced by Vermillion and Cartel Games. I contacted Eric Petersen of Cartel Games through a forum message of his I found at Garage Games. Although it was too late in the production to do much work for this particular game, I wrote a title track and one arena background track for it. Hopefully, you'll see the game on store shelves sometime soon. I'm hoping to get more work through Eric, who has produced several games and has more in the pipeline. Did I mention that I like working with people who really know how to let their creative impulses loose?
William (2004)
I contacted Adele at Spread the Poison by Googling "composer needed". Adele had placed an ad I don't remember where and I responded. Fortunately for me, she asked me to write the underscore for a 15 minute silent film called William, which was great fun. I learned how much learning I still have to do to be an adequate film composer, but we were both pleased with the final result which, incidentally, will only be available to a small group of colleagues who have some connection with the film or film makers. Still, you may be able to get bits of it from the website sometime in the near future. "Spread the Poison" refers to a new kind of poison born from the mind of creative individuals, a creativity which is free from the poison of the marketplace of commercial art. The look and feel of the site will scare away some people, but these are artists who are interested in exploring some dark corners of the mind.
Gettysburg: Three Days of Destiny
VIEW THE TRAILER 56K|DSL|BROADBAND
This is similar to the previous effort of 2002 except that the reenactment footage is of the 140th anniversary of the battle and consequently has many more men in the field. The music is done with GigaStudio, Garritan Strings, Dean Brass, Advanced Orchestra, and G-Town Church percussion sampled instruments. It's pretty believable most of the time!
Gettysburg: The Boys in Blue and Gray
Visit www.robchild.com for my work on this Civil War documentary. This docudrama has received two Silver Tellys including one for "Use of Music". The tale of the battle is told through the evocative language of soldiers and officers who fought in it. You can probably see the production on your local PBS station -- watch for it in the program listings.
Imperial Wars - a Multi-player Internet Game
Visit Intelligent Games to see when this game will be available for beta testing. Meanwhile, you can watch the demo for which I did the sfx and the score. Click the appropriate link:

Wayne Miller has written a feature length film and created this award winning short to help get the feature into eventual production. You can hear some of my music in the trailer for this film.
